It’s been a busy seven days for Seed of Hope. After our World Mental Health day event, we found out that we had been awarded “Outstanding” for our work in Cannington Community Orchard at the South West in Bloom Awards. Finally on Monday Kris and Rev. Alison Waters of St Mary’s Church Cannington attended an award ceremony at Lambeth Palace!
Our Gardens of Rest project was one of five finalists chosen out of 117 entrants.
Our plan is to renovate and refresh the Gardens of Rest to provide a beautiful garden area for quiet contemplation and remembrance as well as an area for outdoor worship.
Sadly we weren’t awarded the £5,000 prize money, but we are pleased that the design by one of our participants was recognised by the judges as being a worthy finalist.
We continue to fundraise for this project and aim to start soon.
