Jayne Alcock

Jayne is a qualified social worker with extensive experience of working in social work, housing support, day services and residential/nursing care. Supporting people with various needs including learning difficulties, older people, those in recovery from problematic drug/alcohol use, as well as those experiencing emotional distress/ mental health issues.

Jayne has worked for Carr Gomm Society as Local Services Manager and at Missing Link as Team Leader.

Jayne trained at University of Bristol to become a gardener. She has personally experienced the positive effects that gardening can have on mental health. Jayne was the Grounds & Gardens Supervisor at Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Cannington campus for eight years and more recently has changed roles to Trainer/Assessor in Horticulture and Environmental Conservation.

Jayne is also the Treasurer of Cannington in Bloom. She has been part of the team that has won gold regionally three times and was invited to take part in the national Britain in Bloom competition in 2017.

Finally, Jayne is a qualified yoga teacher, teaching locally and to participants of Seed of Hope, providing friendly and inclusive sessions to promote physical and mental wellbeing.

BSc. (hons) in Psychology
Diploma in Social Work

Horticulture qualifications:
NVQ (Level 2) in Amenity Horticulture
RHS Level 3 (Advanced) Horticulture

Teaching qualifications.
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
Level 3 eAward in Education and Training
